Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how cancellations, automatic renewals and refunds work for paid ConsentX subscriptions. It applies alongside our Terms of Service and forms part of the agreement between you and ConsentX. Please read it together with the billing section of those terms.
1. Scope of this policy
ConsentX (“ConsentX”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides a consent management platform at app.consentx.io and the marketing website at consentx.io. This policy governs cancellations and refunds for paid subscription Plans purchased through the Service. It does not apply to free Plans, custom or invoiced enterprise agreements (which are governed by their order form), or to charges by third parties that are not ConsentX.
Capitalised terms used here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service. Plan names, prices and billing cycles are described on our pricing page.
2. Free plan
Our Free Plan is offered at no charge and never results in a payment, so no refund applies. You can stop using the Free Plan at any time. We provide a Free Plan precisely so that you can evaluate the Service before committing to a paid subscription.
3. Subscription billing and renewals
Paid Plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis for the billing cycle you select, being monthly or annual. By subscribing, you authorise us and our payment processor to charge your payment method for the applicable Fees, plus any taxes, at the start of each billing cycle.
Unless you cancel, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing cycle at the then-current Fees, and your payment method will be charged for the renewal. We will make renewal terms available to you before each renewal so that you can decide whether to continue.
4. How to cancel
You can cancel your subscription at any time, with no cancellation fee, in either of these ways:
- From the billing section of your account at app.consentx.io/billing, by turning off automatic renewal or cancelling the plan; or
- By emailing support@consentx.io from the email address on your account, and we will action the cancellation for you.
Cancelling stops the next automatic renewal. To avoid being charged for the next cycle, please cancel before your renewal date.
5. Effect of cancellation
When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it will not renew after that. You keep access to paid features until the end of that period, after which your account moves to the Free Plan or is restricted to free-tier limits. We do not delete your consent records on cancellation, but reduced usage limits and feature entitlements will apply from the start of the free tier.
6. Refund eligibility
Except as set out in this policy or as required by applicable law, Fees are charged for access to the Service for a billing cycle and are non-refundable. In particular, we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, for time remaining after a cancellation, or for unused features, seats or usage.
We will, however, provide a refund in the circumstances described in sections 7 to 9 below, and in any other case where we are required to do so by applicable consumer protection or data protection law. We aim to be fair and reasonable, so if you believe your situation warrants a refund, please contact us and we will review it in good faith.
7. Cooling-off for new subscriptions
If you are upgrading from the Free Plan to a paid Plan for the first time, you may request a full refund of your first payment within seven (7) days of that charge, provided you have not made substantial production use of the paid features (for example, running consent collection across a live website at volume). To use this cooling-off right, email support@consentx.io within the seven-day window. This is in addition to any non-waivable statutory cancellation right you may have under your local law.
8. Annual plans
Annual Plans are paid in advance for a twelve-month term at a discount to the monthly rate. The cooling-off right in section 7 applies to a new annual subscription in the same way. After the cooling-off window, an annual Plan is non-refundable for the remainder of the term, but you can cancel at any time to prevent it from renewing for a further year. If you downgrade from an annual to a monthly Plan, the change takes effect at the next renewal.
9. Duplicate, erroneous or unauthorised charges
If you are charged more than once for the same billing cycle, charged after a valid cancellation, or charged in error, we will refund the incorrect amount in full once verified. If you believe a charge on your account was not authorised, contact us promptly at support@consentx.io so that we can investigate before you raise a chargeback with your bank or card issuer.
10. Service availability and downgrades by us
Any service-level commitments, and any associated credits for sustained unavailability, are governed by the service levels described in our Terms of Service. Where a credit is due, it is normally applied against future Fees rather than paid as a cash refund, unless applicable law requires otherwise. If we discontinue a paid Plan that you have prepaid for, we will refund the unused portion of your prepayment on a pro-rata basis.
11. How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase, through the same payment processor that handled the charge. We process approved refunds promptly, usually within five (5) to seven (7) business days of approval. The time for the funds to appear on your statement then depends on your bank or card issuer and is typically a further five to ten business days. Refunds are made in the original currency of the charge; we are not responsible for any difference caused by exchange-rate movements or fees applied by your bank.
12. Payment processors
We use trusted third-party payment processors to take payment and to issue refunds. International card payments are processed by Stripe, and payments in India are processed by Razorpay. We do not store full payment card numbers. Your use of these processors is also subject to their own terms, and refunds are returned through the same processor that handled the original payment.
13. Taxes
Where a refund is issued, any refundable taxes that were collected on the original charge are refunded together with it, in accordance with applicable tax rules. Non-refundable taxes or processor fees, where any apply, are handled as required by law.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. The version in effect when you are charged applies to that charge. If you do not agree with a change, your remedy is to cancel before your next renewal.

- Does ConsentX offer refunds?
- Yes. New paid subscriptions can be refunded in full within 7 days, and duplicate, erroneous or unauthorised charges are always refunded once verified. Outside those cases, fees for a billing period are generally non-refundable, but we review every request in good faith and refund where required by law.
- How do I cancel my ConsentX subscription?
- Cancel at any time, with no cancellation fee, from the billing section at app.consentx.io/billing, or by emailing support@consentx.io from your account address. Cancelling stops the next automatic renewal; cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.
- Is there a money-back guarantee or free trial?
- ConsentX has a free plan you can use indefinitely to evaluate the product. If you upgrade to a paid plan for the first time, you can request a full refund of that first payment within 7 days, as long as you have not made substantial production use of the paid features.
- What happens if I cancel in the middle of a billing cycle?
- Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then moves to the free tier. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused part of a cycle except where the 7-day window applies or the law requires it.
- How long do ConsentX refunds take?
- Approved refunds are processed within 5 to 7 business days to your original payment method. It then typically takes a further 5 to 10 business days for your bank or card issuer to post the funds to your statement.
- How are refunds processed for Stripe and Razorpay payments?
- Refunds are always returned through the same processor that took the payment, to the original payment method. International card payments are handled by Stripe and payments in India are handled by Razorpay. We do not store full card numbers.
- What happens to my consent records if I cancel?
- We do not delete your consent records when you cancel. Your account moves to the free tier, where reduced usage limits and feature entitlements apply from the start of the free period.
