What is General Data Protection Regulation?

Also known as GDPR.

In short
The GDPR is the European Union's data-protection law, requiring a lawful basis (often consent) to process personal data, with fines up to €20 million or 4% of global turnover.

The GDPR sets the global benchmark for consent: it must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, and as easy to withdraw as to give. The UK GDPR mirrors it post-Brexit. ConsentX covers GDPR and UK GDPR alongside DPDPA and US state laws from one editable region engine.
